Our ‘shining sword rising from the water’ vision wasn’t in mystical Avalon of Arthurian legend but by misty Lake Alexandrina, early one morning in 1997 when Lady of the Lake Viognier was planted.

The Zonte’s Footstep Lake Sea Mist Vineyard is on shores of Lake Alexandrina where day often begin and end with the rolling Sea Mists coming in across the lake from the Great Southern Ocean cooling vines and vignerons alike, perfect for growing and drinking our beloved Verdelho.

Avalon Tree Cabernet

Cabernet is called the king of grapes and at Zonte’s Footstep it is so revered. Arthurian Legend had it that whoever could pull Excalibur from the stone ruled under the Avalon Tree would be king. Our Avalon Tree is a top picnic stock, we even have a round table

The Zonte’s Footstep Lake Doctor Vineyard is on the shores of Lake Alexandrina where, each summer afternoon the house cooling breeze of our ‘Lake Doctor’ arrives and revives vines and vignerons alike. We have released this blend form the Lake Doctor Vineyard each vintage since 2003.
